স্থগিত এসএসসি পরীক্ষা শুরু ১৫ সেপ্টেম্বর
বন্যার কারণে স্থগিত হওয়া চলতি বছরের এসএসসি ও সমমানের পরীক্ষা আগামী ১৫ সেপ্টেম্বরে শুরু হবে। আজ রোববার সচিবালয়ে এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে পরীক্ষা শুরুর এ তারিখ ঘোষণা করেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী দীপু মনি।
চলতি বছরের এসএসসি ও সমমানের পরীক্ষা গত ১৯ জুন শুরু হওয়ার কথা ছিল। কিন্তু সিলেট-সুনামগঞ্জসহ দেশের কয়েকটি এলাকায় ভয়াবহ বন্যার কারণে পরীক্ষা শুরুর দুই দিন আগে তা স্থগিত করা হয়। এতে এসএসসি ও সমমানের প্রায় ২০ লাখ ২২ হাজার পরীক্ষার্থী অনিশ্চয়তার মধ্যে পড়ে। এ অবস্থায় পরীক্ষা শুরুর নতুন তারিখ ঘোষণা করা হলো।
নাম প্রকাশ না করার শর্তে একটি শিক্ষা বোর্ডের এক চেয়ারম্যান গত বৃহস্পতিবার প্রথম আলোকে বলেছিলেন, মধ্য আগস্টে এসএসসি ও সমমানের পরীক্ষা শুরু হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। এক সপ্তাহের মধ্যে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত এসএসসি ও সমমানের পরীক্ষার্থীদের হাতে বই তুলে দেওয়ার জন্য বলা হয়েছে।
জানা গেছে, সিলেট ও সুনামগঞ্জ জেলায় এসএসসি ও দাখিলের যত পরীক্ষার্থীর পাঠ্যবই ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে, তাদের নতুন বই দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে। এনসিটিবির এক ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তা প্রথম আলোকে জানান, চট্টগ্রাম, কুমিল্লা ও ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া জেলায় বেশ কিছুসংখ্যক বাড়তি বই রয়েছে। সেগুলোই ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত শিক্ষার্থীদের দেওয়া হচ্ছে। এর মধ্যে চট্টগ্রাম অঞ্চলের বই যাচ্ছে সুনামগঞ্জে। আর কুমিল্লা ও ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া জেলার বই দেওয়া হচ্ছে সিলেটে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত শিক্ষার্থীদের কাছে।
এর আগে গত বুধবার শিক্ষামন্ত্রী দীপু মনি প্রথম আলোকে বলেছিলেন, পরীক্ষার কেন্দ্র হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় এমন কিছু শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান এখনো আশ্রয়কেন্দ্র হিসেবে আছে। কোথাও কোথাও শিক্ষার্থীরা এখনো বাড়িতে ফিরতে পারেনি। কতজন পরীক্ষার্থীর বইপত্র বন্যায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে, সেই তথ্য সংগ্রহ করা হচ্ছে। পরীক্ষার্থীদের হাতে বইগুলো পৌঁছানোর পর অন্তত দুই সপ্তাহ প্রস্তুতির জন্য সময় দিতে হবে। তারপর এসএসসি পরীক্ষা নেওয়া যাবে।
